The student emergency fund provides aid at critical times to UNI students facing emergency situations such as accidents, illness, or the need for temporary housing. Many students do not have the financial resources necessary to survive a disruption in employment like we are currently experiencing with the COVID-19 pandemic. The emergency fund provides aid to ensure that financial hardship does not cause a disruption in any student’s ability to pursue their education.
With the sudden disruption of life on UNI’s campus and in communities around the world, our students are facing an altered educational landscape that comes with new challenges. In addition to transitioning to online learning, students and families are facing unexpected costs including travel, moving and technology needs in addition to potential loss of employment.
