Panther Pantry

In December of 2018, the support of generous donors allowed UNI to launch the Panther Pantry to support students experiencing food insecurity on campus. Since that time, it has served as a resource for over 1,200 students and distributed 14,000 pounds of food and necessities. 

Now, with the COVID-19 pandemic disrupting usual supply lines to partners like the Northeast Iowa Food Bank, the pantry needs your support to stay stocked for students living in the community and taking their coursework online. Help us ensure students won’t need to worry about their next meal.

Attention Students: In light of the university’s COVID-19 policies and recommendations from the Northeast Iowa Food Bank, you will not be able to access the Panther Pantry as normal. Instead, please email pantherpantry@uni.edu with your first name, last name and student ID number to sign up for a Panther Pack filled with canned and boxed goods. Panther Packs will be available on March 25 and on following Wednesdays as long as we are able to access and purchase supplies. You can pick up your Panther Pack at the southwest entrance to Maucker Union between 1-4 p.m. and view up-to-date information on the Panther Pantry website.  

COVID-19 Student Support Funds 

The University of Northern Iowa has a long history of supporting students in and out of the classroom.

These are unprecedented times. We are confident the Panther family will come together in support of our students. With the sudden disruption of life on UNI’s campus and in communities around the world, our students are facing an altered educational landscape that comes with new challenges. In addition to transitioning to online learning, students and families are facing unexpected costs including travel, relocation and technology needs in addition to potential loss of employment. We need your support.

You can help ease the financial stress the COVID-19 pandemic is causing with a gift in support of UNI’s students. Gifts to the Panther Pantry, the student emergency fund, and supporting scholarship program ensure our students will have access to the food, support, and security they need in this uncertain time.
